DriverMap Targeted RNA Sequencing Expression Profiling (EXP) Service

The DriverMap Targeted RNA Expression Profiling Service measures the expression level of all 19,000 protein-coding genes in the human genome or almost 5000 mouse genes from just a few nanograms of total RNA.

Cellecta’s DriverMap RNA Expression Profiling service includes:

  • RNA isolation
  • Sample QC
  • RT-PCR of samples using the DriverMap primers
  • Next-generation sequencing (NGS) run
  • Analysis to yield gene expression levels

The analysis includes deconvolution, quantification, and normalization of the expression levels for each target gene. Further downstream analysis is available at an additional cost.

Since the DriverMap assay is a targeted RT-PCR approach that generates a single amplicon of approximately 200 bases for each target gene, the library only has about 19,000 sequences. This is very different from RNA-Seq, where you essentially sequence the entire transcriptome. As a result, with the DriverMap assay, you can achieve very good depth of coverage and more sensitivity than RNA-Seq, with 5-10 fold fewer reads. We typically obtain about 5 million reads per sample.
